If you are in the habit of leaving people messages ending with a request that they reply "at your earliest convenience": I think you're on pretty solid ground. That should be fine.
If you are in the habit of leaving messages informing others that you will respond to them "at my earliest convenience": I really think that you are making a mistake, and for your own good, I urge you to stop.
